Dive and Kite Schools in Lanzarote

21 schools teaching scuba diving and kitesurfing in Lanzarote.

Lanzarote at a glance: 17 of the 21 publish lesson prices, from €37/dive; training bodies named: SSI (20), IKO (1); 18 name a fixed base and 1 meet where the conditions are.

How to read this list, and what each kind of source is worth

This page carries 21 schools. 21 are in the register and 21 name a training body. Read 2026-09-20.

21 are in the SSI and IKO registers, which are third parties saying the business is listed and nothing more. Everything else is what the school states on its own site, quoted and dated. Nobody assessed any of them.

Every watersports business in and around Lanzarote that SSI or IKO publishes in their own register of affiliated centres, read on 20 September 2026. 21 in total: 20 by SSI, 1 by IKO. Each entry links to the register page it was read from, so the affiliation can be checked at the source rather than taken from here. 20 publish a website in the register. Absence means nothing on this page, and that is the important sentence on it. These are membership registers, not licences: a school that is not in them may simply not have joined, or may teach under a body that publishes no list at all. IKO's own site claims more than 350 affiliated schools against the 306 its feed carries, which is the size of the gap. So this page is what these bodies list here and never the schools of Lanzarote. What a listing proves is narrow. It says the body registers this business, on the date given. It says nothing about the teaching, the equipment, the boats or whether the school is open this season, and none of these businesses was assessed by anybody for this page. Nothing here was read on the operators' own sites yet, so this page carries no training body beyond the register's own, no languages and no quotes.

On a dive page, Green Fins means a named third party visited the business and scored it. Nothing on this page is like that. What is here is a register entry for 21 of them, and for the rest what the school states on its own site, quoted and dated.

What absence means here. Every business here is in one of these registers, so absence means the register does not carry the business, which is a statement about a list.

An equipment brand is not a training body. Several schools show Duotone, Cabrinha, Naish or North prominently. Those are gear sponsorships and certify nothing, so they are not recorded as affiliations, and a school that names only a brand shows a blank here.

A register entry can be opened; a claim cannot. Every affiliation taken from a register links to that body's own page for that business, so the listing can be read at the source instead of taken from here. Where a school's own words are shown instead, they are a claim with nothing behind them but the school, and they are labelled that way.

Why these registers and not others. A register earns its place here by being enumerable and citable: it has to list who is in it, and each entry has to have a page that names the business, so a reader can check the claim instead of taking it from us. Most do neither. Green Fins is the case that shows the difference, because its members are the best evidence in this directory and its member pages render the same bytes for a real centre and an invented one, so a Green Fins fact is stored with a centre id and never cited as a link. Twenty-five were tried and nine answer: what each one returned, with the date it was asked.

Run a dive and kite school in Lanzarote?

Open your school's row and use Is this you? to confirm or correct the entry. A school that confirms its own entry is listed above the unconfirmed ones, with the date, and may show the confirmed-listing badge on its own site. If you teach in Lanzarote and you are not on this list, ask to be added with a link to your own site. Listing is free. A school can also buy a business page, which puts it at the top of this list for a year, marked Sponsored; nobody can pay to be listed, confirmed or removed. To object to an entry, tell us why.

Sources for this Lanzarote list

  1. No operator website was read for this page. Everything here comes from the registers below, so there are no quotes, no training body beyond the register's own and no languages.
  2. How this list was assembled. The ssi training centre register, 3,868 centres worldwide fetched in one request and filtered to this place; the iko school register, 306 affiliated schools in one request. A record is kept when the register's own city field names this place or its coordinates fall within 32 km of it, because each half fails alone: coordinates tied an Indonesian business to an Egyptian registration 10,000 km away, and city strings alone would have dropped a centre whose register coordinates sit 780 km out to sea. Green Fins is not among the sources here: its member pages render nothing a reader or a checker could confirm, and a citation has to point at the fact it cites. No operator website has been read for this page.
  3. The Lanzarote guide for the place itself, and the language directory for schools in other places that state which languages they teach in.
