Dive and Wind Schools in Elba: all 20, each sourced

20 schools teaching scuba diving and windsurfing. Every one of them is here because the SSI and VDWS registers list it, and each entry links to the record it was read from. Nobody assessed any of them. Being in a register is not an inspection. Nothing on this page was read on the schools' own sites, so it carries no quotes and no languages.

This one lists every school the SSI and VDWS registers carry here, all 20 of them, and nobody assessed any of them. Being in a register means the body says the business is listed. It is not an inspection.

Every watersports business in and around Elba that SSI or VDWS publishes in their own register of affiliated centres, read on 1 September 2026. 20 in total: 15 by SSI, 5 by VDWS. Each entry links to the register page it was read from, so the affiliation can be checked at the source rather than taken from here. 17 publish a website in the register. Absence means nothing on this page, and that is the important sentence on it. These are membership registers, not licences: a school that is not in them may simply not have joined, or may teach under a body that publishes no list at all. So this page is what these bodies list here and never the schools of Elba. What a listing proves is narrow. It says the body registers this business, on the date given. How to read this list, and what a register entry does not tell you

On a dive page, Green Fins means a named third party visited the business and scored it. Nothing on this page is like that. What is here instead is a register entry: a body publishing the business in its own list, which settles that it is listed and nothing else about it.

What absence means here. A business missing from this page is one the SSI and VDWS registers list nowhere in this place. That is a statement about a list and not about a school: it may never have joined, or may teach under a body that publishes no list at all.

A register entry can be opened; a claim cannot. Every affiliation taken from a register links to that body's own page for that business, so the listing can be read at the source instead of taken from here.

Why these registers and not others. A register earns its place here by being enumerable and citable: it has to list who is in it, and each entry has to have a page that names the business, so a reader can check the claim instead of taking it from us. Most do neither. Green Fins is the case that shows the difference, because its members are the best evidence in this directory and its member pages render the same bytes for a real centre and an invented one, so a Green Fins fact is stored with a centre id and never cited as a link. Twenty-five were tried and nine answer: what each one returned, with the date it was asked.

What this page is, and is not. This is independent research by the operator of this site, not reviewed by a lawyer. A listing is not a safety endorsement and not a substitute for training: we have not dived or taken a lesson with these schools, inspected their equipment or watched a briefing. Scuba diving and windsurfing carry risk that no listing removes. Nothing here was checked by anyone but the school itself, instructor teams change between seasons, and the date beside each field is the day we read it and nothing more. Confirm anything that matters with the school before you book on the strength of it.

A record is kept when the register's own city field names this place or its coordinates fall within 20 km of it, because each half fails alone: coordinates tied an Indonesian business to an Egyptian registration 10,000 km away, and city strings alone would have dropped a centre whose register coordinates sit 780 km out to sea. Green Fins is not among the sources here: its member pages render nothing a reader or a checker could confirm, and a citation has to point at the fact it cites. No operator website has been read for this page.
